The science (and art) of joining metals is generally referred as welding. Other than welding, there are other processes of joining metals – brazing and soldering – with a difference in techniques of each. In Brazing two pieces of metal are joined by applying heat and adding a filler metal of lower melting point than the pieces to be joined.
