The Big Agnes Flying Diamond Tent is Nothing Short of Amazing
The Big Agnes Flying Diamond tent has a floor area of 112 square feet and can sleep six people comfortably including a 35 square foot vestibule area. Although this tent is a beast it has a trail weight of only 22 pounds-trail weight includes tent body, poles and fly and a packed weight of 27 pounds -packed weight includes poles, fly, tent body, stakes, guy lines, stuff sacks and instructions. The Big Agnes is a four season tent and is perfect for Boy Scout overnights and weekend warrior trips.
What I liked most about this tent is the ease of use and overall performance of the tent. It seems like the people at Big Agnes thought of everything in the design of this product. The color coded webbing and buckles made set up a breeze and the DAC Combi lightweight poles feature press fit connectors. The tent can be separated into two rooms with the storable partition wall or left as one large area. The main room of the tent is measured at 112 square feet-the dimensions are 240 inX84 in with the vestibule measuring 60 inches across.
One other neat feature with this tent is the reflective guy lines for easier night time visibility. This really comes in handy when nature calls in the middle of forklift safety powerpoint the night. Both of the access doors can be staked out with trekking poles (Not included) for some additional shade for those days when the sun is beating down.
I used this tent on a weekend trip with 3 friends and the ease of use really came in handy when setting up and when it was time to pack up the tent folds up fairly easily into a pouch that is about 2’x 1.5′ so it wasn’t bad to store in my buddies’ jeep. If we were staying out longer, like a week, I would have only brought welder supply cable the tent poles, tent body and fly but since we were at a campground I just brought the whole pack. I have to say the access doors make a nice awning and give you a great base camp feel. The only complaint I have is that with this tent it did not feel like camping because the accommodations were so nice! Haha!
I would recommend this tent to anyone but I think the perfect application would be for, like I said earlier, an overnight scout trip.…
