Fuel Efficient SUV – An Outline

Fuel Efficient SUV – An Outline

Sport utility cars are acknowledged to be gas-guzzlers even though they provide far better gas mileage as compared to several cars. A fuel efficient SUV is ideal for people who usually transport bulky things, have numerous children and plan to do some off road driving once in a while or merely like an additional height for ease in getting in or out of the vehicle.

These days individuals are looking for ways to lessen their expenses without depriving themselves what they really need. A car is one of the necessities of many households to get to the office, school, store and primarily to go around. Many individuals are resolving to downgrade their automobiles or change to an electric, diesel, or a hybrid vehicle. Usually, the smaller the automobile the better the fuel mileage but that does not mean that you really do have to go smaller to economize on fuel. Sometimes it is better to consider alternatives obtainable with the similar dimension and category of the car.

Most individuals are now seriously musing regarding what a good fuel efficient SUV does. SUVs come under three kinds of fuel efficient SUVs. There are the small, the mid-size and the big crossovers and Sport utility cars. One of the finest places to discover the best SUVs is the Kelly Blue Book. Review of Montgomery South RV Park

Review of Montgomery South RV Park

RV parks vary in amenities and price as much as the hotel/motel industry does. In RV parks as in hotels you can go from Motel 6 to New York Rich. But the key to a good RV park is for the owners to know their niche. In other words, be what you can comfortably be and charge accordingly. That pretty well describes the Montgomery South Campground, though one might suggest the price is a little on the high side.

Sometimes an RV traveler wants all the amenities and none of the hassles. Sometimes they just want a nice place to spend the night where they feel secure. Sometimes a place like Montgomery South RV Park is just right. We spent a quiet night there and with all of the amenities one might expect.

There are 30 sites, most of them gravel, all of them large and pull through. Clean restrooms that are particularly nice with chairs, mirrors and showers along with WiFi and full hookups are included. 30 and 50 amp service is available at all sites. There is no cable, but they indicate five channel are available. They also sell propane, which is an excellent service for those in need of propane.

Montgomery South RV Park is between 12 and 14 miles south of Montgomery, Alabama, depending on the map you read. It is located at Exit 158 off of I-65. 1/8 mile east and one mile north on Venable Rd and you are there.

The owner was on site to greet us and in general the staff was very helpful and friendly. The office has a large television and an inviting couch or two. I’m looking out the window of my RV and watching traffic whiz by on I-65. However the noise does not seem to be a problem at all.

I paid $26 with a discount. The park is a Good Sam park and is rated in Woodalls. They accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

The WiFi signal is not as strong as I would like it to be, though generally it is serviceable. There are several acres of pastureland for walking your pet. I think you will find this a great place to spend the night.

Montgomery South RV Park is located at 713 Venable Rd. Hope Hull, AL 36043. Their telephone number is 334-284-7006 and their email address is: …

What The Heck Is A Fuel Bladder and Why They Are In Strong Demand

What The Heck Is A Fuel Bladder and Why They Are In Strong Demand

It is well known that an army marches on food and water. Without a functioning supply line, armies starve and wars are lost. In the same way that they march on food, they drive and fly on fuel. Fuel Bladders are the easy way to keep fuel close to the equipment that needs fueling. A fuel bladder is a giant pillow like temporary device that can be filled safely with fuel. The largest off the shelf fuel bladder has a capacity of 20,000 gallons. Manufacturers also can manufacture fuel bladders over 100,000 gallon capacity as well!

Why order these items instead of fabricating storage tanks? Some applications are permanent while others are temporary. Temporary applications are prime fuel pillow users. When a site closes down, the fuel bladder used at that location can easily be moved to the next location. Why should anyone spend money on a permanent tank for a temporary task? The military needs lots of fuel, and they need it reliably. Fuel bladders allow the military to accomplish this well.

Other users would include construction sites, speedways, and even service stations. In parts of the world, land is precious. In these locations, the idea of a 30 ft x 30 ft x 6 ft contraption on the land would be unimaginable. Any service station in a dense location would need underground tanks. Consider that there are also locations where there is plenty of available land. In these locations, why waste money burying fuel tanks? A Fuel pillow could work out fine, and cost a lot less than an engineering job.

Water is as important to people as fuel is to machinery. Water bladders are also available. The same units can be used for potable (drinkable) or gray (non drinkable) water. To avoid dangerous mistakes, a qualified dealer should find out how to label the water bladder. Homes with decent acreage should have a supply of water in case of any water system failure. Even 500 gallons of potable water would allow a family to survive a water crisis for quite a while. Of course water bladders can also be used for commercial application such as condominiums, and hospitals. A Hospital needs water just as much as it needs fuel and energy. With lives at stake, hospitals need their emergency contingencies for water – both potable and non potable. Capacities are the same as fuel pillows ranging from 500 gallons to 20,000 gallons.

Hopefully this article has provided some interesting information.

Customers needing these devices should contact a reputable dealer.…

What to Look For When Buying a Diesel Heater

What to Look For When Buying a Diesel Heater

Diesel heaters, while not in common use, are often favored by campers, people who live or travel to isolated locations and for heating outside sheds or garages. There are many advantages to running a diesel heater. Diesel is very easy to find and it is a relatively cheap fuel. While care needs to be taken when transporting extra diesel fuel, it is generally easily transportable. If you are interested in buying a diesel heater here are a few tips on what to look for.

Look for a heater that burns diesel vapors rather than the diesel itself. You will find that these type of heaters give off a much cleaner and better combustion, and they do not smell like you are burning diesel.

For safety reasons, buy a heater that is guaranteed not to flood. It should also have a valve that prevents diesel from flowing into the burner if the flame goes out, or if the heater is tilted or tipped.

You will need to vent your heater, as it gives off carbon monoxide just a propane heater does. Look for one that is easy to assemble and install, especially the vent. Exhaust stack sections should fit together easily and be a very snug fit so there is no chance of fumes escaping through tiny cracks.

Check the warranty. It should be for at least one year. Try to get a longer warranty if you can, three years is a good length of time. Also, make sure that the heater can be serviced nearby if something goes wrong. You do not want to have to send your heater across the country for servicing. Usually these type of heaters will need servicing approximately every 1,000 hours. If you run your heater for 30 hours a week all through winter and autumn you will probably need to service your heater every couple of years.

Also, make sure the heater is large enough to heat the area it is needed for. You are better off getting a slightly larger heater than you need, which can be run at lower temperatures or for less time, than buying one that is simply too small to provide adequate heat. The retailer you buy your diesel heater from should be able to supply you with recommendations. These recommendations will depend on the area to heat, insulation of the room and outdoor weather conditions. Other things which may reduce the heaters effectiveness and which must be taken into consideration include the altitude at which the heater will be run and how many windows in the home.…

There is Nothing Evil About Fossil Fuel Energy Companies, But It Is Evil to Claim So

There is Nothing Evil About Fossil Fuel Energy Companies, But It Is Evil to Claim So

Fossil fuels for energy and fuel have served the human race well, and whereas no pollution would be nice, there is a lot of energy packed in fossil fuels, and there aren’t very many other sources of energy that can compete with that. There is nothing evil about fossil fuels, they are what they are, and they’ve served our purpose. And until in the future other alternative source of energy can compete without being subsidized, it is irresponsible to call out fossil fuels because it will raise the cost of energy to such a high point it will create economic challenges.

Poor people in the United States for instance won’t be able to run their air conditioners, or afford fuel for their cars to get to work, or anything else. In fact it’s irresponsible, and evil to cause them strife by unbalancing the level playing field of free markets on behalf of alternative energy which cannot perform at the same level because it doesn’t provide the same amount of energy. Those environmentalists who think that they are helping someone, are actually hurting society, and causing a worsened problem in the economy, and causing 10s of millions of people to fall out of the middle class here at home in the United States.

It’s even worse in other parts of the world, and I ask is it really fair to them? We are making policies and forcing agendas onto these other nations in the name of good, yet we are hurting people. If they can’t afford to live and have to pay more for energy, they have less money to buy important things such as food, or even to send their kids to higher education to lift the family at of poverty where they may have been there for generations, and may be there for generations to come due to the hardheaded environmentalists and their agenda.

Okay so, one could actually make the claim that the environmentalism can often be just as evil and unfair to mankind, even more so than the accusations against fossil fuels. Environmentalism has been irresponsible, indeed, this has been quite common, as we’ve seen in the recent past. In fact, we’ve seen politicians literally use environmental protection agencies to go after fossil fuels to hurt them in the marketplace and give the advantage to their competitors.

And the when their competitors still can’t perform, these same politicians will offer subsidies, and tax credits, and charge the difference to the tax payer’s they same folks who are already paying through the nose, what kind of an alternative energy future is that? In some regards they are making the alternative energy industry weaker, less competitive, and therefore will see its demise – and mankind will not be better off, he will be worse off, that’s the reality.

Thus, all the way around it’s a bad idea, a bad deal, and the environmentalism …

Ready to Increase Your Gas Mileage?

Ready to Increase Your Gas Mileage?

Maximizing your Fuel Mileage

I’m sure you’ve heard the old story comes along about someone who invented a special carburetor. The story goes; the carburetor would allow any vehicle to get a hundred miles to the gallon.

As nice as thoughts of such a device might be, it is a myth. The reason why is that you have to have a certain amount of energy [fuel,] to move a given weight, at given speed, with based upon the engine that is in the vehicle. This is basic stuff, and you have to think both inside and outside the box to change your fuel economy.

In reality better fuel economy is a factor of many things. Cars are engineered with better and lighter engines, the vehicles are made with lighter materials, and cars are made “slippier” when they have less wind resistance.

When you’re considering the different things you can do to make your car more efficient, there are a few things that come to mind. When desired fuel mileage is not being obtained with a present vehicle, many times a new vehicle is considered as the only remedy. There are no changes that can be made to a vehicle to increase the mileage over that it was designed to deliver. The present vehicle can often deliver considerably better mileage than it currently does, however.

Other tips like keeping tires inflated, switching to an energy conserving engine oil and reducing unnecessary weight also help, but to a much smaller degree. Replacing a dirty air filter is always a good idea, but will not help mileage, just the longevity of a fuel injected vehicle.

Another factor would be to change your driving style, don’t race, and don’t rest your foot on the brake. I hear a lot of people say that they’ll trade their vehicle in, thereby moving from a vehicle that gets 20 MPG to one that gets 30 MPG. Driving 12,000 miles per year and with fuel cost of $4.00 per gallon, the savings is $800.00 per year. Paying $25,000 plus for a new vehicle will require over 31 years to break even, so this factor should not come into play for buying another vehicle.

So if we’re agreed that if you’re driving a non-efficient vehicle, but buying a more fuel efficient vehicle is not the answer, what can you do?

This is where you think outside the box. What are the Japanese working on now? Hybrids. Some of the Hybrids are gas/electric, and one of the prototypes is a pure hydrogen vehicle. Either way you go, buying one of these vehicles would be TENS of thousands of dollar more than a conventional vehicle.

What if you convert YOUR vehicle, yes, that gas guzzler, into a hybrid? That would do three things.

One, maximize the fuel efficiency by using the tips I mentioned.

Two, the satisfaction of beating those guys that are holding the high cost of gas over our heads.

Three, the feeling …

How Are Smart Meters Beneficial to Dual Fuel Customers

How Are Smart Meters Beneficial to Dual Fuel Customers

The United Kingdom is planning to get smart meters installed in all the homes by 2020. What is so exceptional about them and how are they beneficial to customers?

There have been many countries where they have been successfully installed and these countries have proven that they are not just a facility but a necessity.

Between 2000 and 2005, Enel SpA, a utility major in Italy installed 27 million of them ensuring that its entire customer base was taken care of. These meters since then have proved to be extremely useful. They have proved to be extremely useful in many ways.

They have many facilities like remotely controlling the supply of gas/electricity to the property, automatic information relay to the company, immediate reporting of any outage, detect any unauthorized use of electricity and even change the amount of electricity that a customer demands at any time. They also can be converted from prepayment meters to credit meters with regular bills and vice versa from the remote service location. Any change in the tariff plans also become effective with a remote instruction.

Compare this to the situation where they are not installed. Let us assume a locality in a country has got digital non-smart meters installed. These non-smart meters have to be read regularly so that the bills can be generated on time. This causes excessive work load on meter operators and the utility companies alike. The customers usually expect the meter operators to read the non-smart meters and this misinformation can cause a lot of errors in the bills leading to customer dissatisfaction and extra work being done to rectify the errors caused due to estimation, taken in absence of an actual read.

Also, in the U.K. all those who are unable to pay their gas and electricity bills get a prepayment meter installed at the property if the utility company deems fit. All the debt is transferred on the prepayment meter and every time the customer tops the meter up, an agreed amount is deducted from the top up that goes to settle the debt. This is how a utility company is able to recollect any unpaid bills. To achieve this purpose, the whole meter unit has to be exchanged and this exchange is free of cost for the customers. This is a huge investment for the utility companies.

Smart meters help eliminate all such issues that had to be previously borne by utility companies. This has been successfully proven by the use of these smart meters in Italy. This is why many service providers have found the impetus to get smart meters installed at the consumers’ houses.…

What Are Dual-Fuel Heat Pumps and How Do They Work?

What Are Dual-Fuel Heat Pumps and How Do They Work?

You may have heard of geothermal heat pumps (earth-based pumps) and air source electric heat pumps (electricity-based) but what about dual-fuel heat pumps? These are actually a type of electric heat pump but also combine a gas furnace. The natural limitation of air electric pumps is that they do not perform well in extreme temperatures, like the dead of winter. They extract their heat from the air, and thus in below freezing temperatures, they are limited in their capacity.

That is where the dual-fuel pump comes in. This is an effective way to heat the home, as whenever the air electric pump system does start to wane because of low temperatures, a gas furnace activates and provides a more economic and a more effective form of heat. You are taking advantage of electrical power and gas power to heat your home.

Whenever the temperature is above freezing temperatures the system can easily use electricity to generate heat (or air, if it’s reversible). This type of heat isn’t as warm, but still distributes comfortable heat evenly throughout the living quarters. However, when the air gets extremely cold and below freezing temperatures, the pump starts to switch (automatically in most cases) to supplemental gas power. This makes the system not only affordable but also warmer.

There are definite disadvantages to gas power and electrical power in their own right; when combined the two systems complement each other, giving one the “best of both worlds.” The only potential disadvantage here is the startup cost, much like geothermal pumps. Dual-fuel pumps run upwards of $1,000 sometimes because you are basically buying two systems-in-one.

Nevertheless, if you can afford this expense then it’s best to invest in this technology, because over the long run you will be saving money on a superior and more economical system than electric-based heat pumps alone.

There are a variety of systems to choose from, including manufacturers like Bryant Evolution, Daikin, Friedrich, Fujitsu, Heritage and Sanyo. The most notable differences will be in price as well as whether the model is an inside or outside pump system. Some companies also offer financing on these dual-fuel pumps.

Some products like the Heil PDX4 Packaged Two-Stage Dual Fuel Heat Pump Series offer quiet operation, a two stage system, a direct spark ignition system and a 14 SEER performance level. This is a great way to lower your long-term electrical costs while ensuring a warm winter season.…

Ways to Greatly Reduce That Pain at the Pump

Ways to Greatly Reduce That Pain at the Pump

The cost of gasoline and other fossil fuel based products has skyrocketed in recent years, which can lead to serious pain at the pump, especially for consumers that must commute to work every day. Fortunately, there are many quick and easy ways to save on gas by simply changing a few habits:

1) Ditch the gas guzzler. This may be tough for some consumers, but it all comes down to what is practical. Most people simply do not need a large pickup truck or SUV, or a six cylinder engine instead of four. Making the switch to a more fuel efficient vehicle can save thousands of dollars a year in fuel costs.

2) Always make sure that the vehicle is properly maintained and tuned. A poorly maintained vehicle can easily burn 25% more gas, which really adds up, especially with today’s gas prices.

3) Make the switch to steel-belted radial tires. Consumers who install these tires will see an increase in gas mileage of up to 10%. For a commuter who drives 300 miles a week, that means an extra 30 miles without spending a dime more. That is 120 extra miles a month, and 1440 over the course of a year.

4) Never use premium, high octane gas. The only exception is when the vehicle has a high performance engine and the manufacturer recommends it.

5) Always check tire pressure once a week. Driving on underinflated tires can reduce gas mileage significantly. For every pound the tires are underinflated, expect to see a drop of six percent in gas mileage – that is a 30% drop if they are underinflated by 5 pounds, which is common.

6) Never top off the tank. On warm days, the gas will expand, and it may overflow the tank, resulting in wasted gas.

7) Never warm up the car by letting it idle. It is far more efficient to warm up an engine by driving than by letting it idle. Not only that, but an idling vehicle can easily burn a quart of gas or more every 15 minutes.

8) Make a conscious effort to combine errands whenever possible and avoid backtracking. This can result in significant savings.

9) Always accelerate gently because flooring the gas pedal will burn more fuel than necessary.

10) Keep an eye on traffic ahead at all times in order to anticipate slow-downs and avoid stops. Remember, there is a reason why city mileage and highway mileage ratings are so different – constantly stopping and starting uses much more fuel.

11) Drivers should always ease up to traffic jams by taking their foot off the gas, rather than approaching at full speed and slamming on the brakes. It takes 20% more fuel to get the car up to normal speeds again from a full stop than it does when the car is still in motion.

12) There is a sweet spot for fuel efficiency when it comes to driving …

8 Tips To Save Money On Gas

8 Tips To Save Money On Gas

Everybody is getting hurt financially at the gas pump, and for some people the money they spend at the pump is a huge part of their budget. For those of us whose biggest expense is gas, here are a few tips that will help you save some money while you’re on the road.

Drive Slower

This is probably the biggest factor that weighs into fuel efficiency. This may mean that you have to leave a little earlier for work in the morning but if you slow your speed from 75 mph to 55 it’s going to save you a ton of money in the long run. The main reason for this is that aerodynamic drag increases very much when you driving at faster speeds, so your car are using up a lot of fuel to drive at faster speeds.

Driving Steadily

Unnecessary braking and accelerating erratically can greatly reduce the mileage of your vehicle by 2 to 3 mpg. The best thing to do is once you’re on the highway maintain steady pace in top gear, preferably at the speed limit. Accelerating smoothly, careful cornering and prudent braking can not only extend the life of your engine but your tires and brakes as well.

Reducing Drag

When driving at highway speeds of 55 mph or greater 50% of your engine power is used to overcome the aerodynamic drag of your vehicle. So if you’re being conscious of you gas mileage it usually works best to not carry stuff on top of your vehicle, or consider removing your car-top carrier. If you have bike rack on the top of your vehicle consider using a rear bike rack only when you’re transporting your bicycle.

Use Regular Gas

Some vehicles require that you only fuel up with premium gas at the pump, but for those of us that can use regular it’s in our wallet’s best interest to use the loser grade gas. Using regular gas does not affect the performance of your vehicle, the only difference is premium have higher prices. Even when the owner manual recommends that you run premium tests have shown that the vehicle runs fine on regular.

Warm Up Your Vehicle

It’s a proven fact that engines run more efficiently when they are warmed up. Tests have shown that if you’re cold starting your vehicle it can waste up to 4 mpg (depending on your vehicle). If you’re concerned with the environment starting an engine cold produces more pollution.

Keep Your Tires Inflated Properly.

Underinflated tires can greatly decrease fuel efficiency. Not only do underinflated tires decrease your fuel efficiency but it greatly compromises your handling, and braking. It’s probably a good idea to check your psi every three weeks.

Quality of Your Tires

A higher quality tire with low rolling resistance can save you hundreds of dollars a year in fuel, driving around in an old worn tire can also greatly affect your fuel efficiency. Make sure you are constantly …

The New Energy Savior: Natural Gas To The Rescue

The New Energy Savior: Natural Gas To The Rescue

What would you think about $1.50 gas again? With the recent advancements in Natural Gas extraction methods, it may go lower than that! Many large U.S. companies are starting to replace diesel engine trucks with Natural Gas vehicles. By all accounts we are the Saudi Arabia of Natural Gas. Many estimates put the reserves at enough to last at least 100 years.

The auto companies already make CNG(compressed natural gas) vehicles overseas. As soon as they start building them here they will sell. When people start buying them the oil producing countries will feel the pinch when they see the demand for gas start to plummet. But then the scare tactics will begin.

Everybody will be told that we don’t have the infrastructure to fuel the vehicles. We will be told that cars will be exploding, and be too dangerous. I say BULL!

When T. Boone Pickens was trying to get Congress and Obama to listen to him about the possibilities of using Natural Gas for transportation, all Obama wanted to talk about is Electric Vehicles. They have years to go before the battery technology allows vehicles to be used for more than just traveling around town and then back home.

And the neat thing about having a CNG vehicle is you can have a fueling station hooked up at your home if you use Natural Gas at home. Besides if the service stations know CNG vehicles are here to stay they will get set-up to sell it. A few years ago there were only 2 Ethanol stations in our state, then with Ethanol production going up there were hundreds of pumps across the state within a year.

Then think of the future possibility of Fuel Cell vehicles. All of this isn’t just a pipe dream, it is going to happen sooner than some people think. About 15-20 years ago Chicago had all of their buses in the city on an experimental Fuel Cell program. All the buses in Chicago, can you imagine that? Why doesn’t every large city in the country have this?

As I stated earlier what about $1.50 gas? I not only think it’s coming I think it could go lower than that.

I hear people talking about how much gasoline China will be using but what they are not reading is that China is also working on alternate fuel programs. As sure as I am sitting here today, OPEC will be wanting to give it’s oil away sometime soon. The world will be coming to us for their energy needs. (CNG)

That is enough for today, boy do I feel good about the thought of OPEC shaking in their boots. I hope our politicians have enough sense to stay out of the way and let the explorers and drillers free us from the hell that hostile countries enjoy putting us in.…

Inflate Your Tyres and Save Yourselves Money, Money, Money

This is not the first time that we have all had to pull our belts to save money. Many older business men and women have made it through at least four past recessions.

In the past they have got through them with flying colours, the latest being no different from the rest. Many people have come up with money saving ideas, and different ways of saving money and that is great the more people do this the greater hope there is for us all.

One of the main ways of saving fuel is through your car.

The first step is to keep up with your wheel alignment. many articles have been written about wheel alignment, but it is now more important than ever. If your alignment is out then your car is literally fighting itself against the steering.

If your tyres appear to be unevenly worn then you should get your car checked out by a mechanic because the wheels made need to be correctly aligned. Uneven wear is the best sign that your wheels are not correctly aligned.

Improper alignment affects the handling of your car and increases fuel consumption. Yes this will increase your cars fuel consumption, so get you car correctly aligned.

Next thing to do is to keep clean oil in your engine. This helps keep your engine running more efficiently and therefore reduces the amount of fuel you burn off. It is worth noting that diesel engines require their oil changing more the petrol engines, just a point that needs noting, once again this saves fuel costs.

Another tip is to keep your air conditioning switched off when it is not needed.

Air con can increase you fuel consumption by as much as 10%. If you are travelling at over 60 mph in summer it would be more fuel efficient to have your air con on than open your windows because of the drag effect.

Although it may appear obvious to some correct driving speeds also affect fuel costs. Going too fast and using the wrong gears has an adverse affect on your fuel consumption. The more careful you drive the less fuel you will use, so” foot off gas”

Charcoal Vs Propane The Great Grilling Debate

Charcoal Vs Propane The Great Grilling Debate

If you’re a griller of any level, you have a preference for the type of fuel you burn to cook your meals. There are two camps that are common in the world of grilling and barbecuing. You’re either a Gas Guy or a Charcoal Guy. What’s the difference? Let’s take a look at some of the pros and cons for each.

Propane/Natural Gas Grills

Pros:

Ready for cooking almost instantly

No cleanup of ashes

No charcoal to purchase or light

Clean burning, no smoke or odor

Doesn’t impart a flavor to your food

Cons:

Doesn’t impart flavor to your food. While this can be a pro, many BBQ and grilling enthusiasts enjoy the smoky goodness that hardwood charcoal can add to their meats

Propane tanks are unreliable. You may have enough fuel to finish cooking, you may not. A gauge will help alleviate some of this problem

Propane can be dangerous. If you’re not keeping a close eye on the condition of your tanks, you could be in for a disaster

You have to lug around a 25lb canister anytime you want to move your grill to a different location

Not well suited for low temperature cooking

This is not an exhaustive list by any standard, just some of the more common pros and cons involved with using Propane as your primary fuel source. Many a fine meal has been created with the assistance of propane and natural gas.

Charcoal/Hardwood

Pros:

Imparts a flavor to all foods cooked with it. You can supplement your charcoal with hardwoods to further enhance flavor

High temps are a snap with charcoal

Maintaining a lower, longer cook time is possible with charcoal by simply positioning your food away from the heat source

You get the “authentic” experience of cooking over hot coals

Cons:

Takes longer to get coals up to temperature for cooking

Ash cleanup and disposal

You can’t easily regulate your temps by simply dialing down the flame

You have to keep charcoal on hand at all times for impromptu grilling sessions

While I mentioned charcoal is more “authentic” that’s really subjective. Gas grills have been around long enough now that it’s more a matter of preference than it is anything else. You can create delicious meals with either method, and in the end it all comes down to what you are more comfortable with using in your endeavors.

Just a final word on either method of cooking. No matter which fuel source you prefer, the key to creating great BBQ and grilled foods is technique. Take your time and study the methods you are using. Look to the friends and family who are skilled in the art of BBQ’ing for advice on how to improve your process. As with anything you undertake, grilling and BBQ’ing expertise is earned through trial and error. Learn from your mistakes, and you’ll find yourself at the top of the grilling world before you know it.…

Fleet Management, Diesel Fuel Prices Finish Week Higher

Future Diesel Saving Might Be Bleak Without Fuel Management

Crude oil finished the week higher which means diesel prices will go up causing a continued strain on fleet management. Many believe the news for 2011 we be diesel fuel prices and gas prices and what there increasing fueling cost will do to the economy. This week strong factory data lead diesel prices higher, making some fleet companies question how their fuel management system will for controlling savings stand up with increasing fueling costs.

Several fleet companies expressed concerns to our staff on what fuel management strategies we will be using to control fleet fueling costs. We were able to talk to fleet manager that their fleet management solutions were in very good hands. The continued communications we have with diesel companies, fleet cards, fuel cards, mobile fueling companies and fleet credit card services helps us position our clients with diesel savings or diesel prices cost controls that might not otherwise be available to most fleet management programs.

Several new fleet companies have been calling inquiring about how they use their fleet card – fleet credit cards and is there potential to have more savings if they switch diesel cards, fleet cards or fleet credit cards. As our fuel consulting team will explain those fuel savings depend on what fuel card or fleet cards they are using today. We try to provide fleet managers a clearer understanding just what their fuel management system could be up against and fleet credit cards or fleet cards alone might not be the full answer. With their fleet management programs they might need to consider mobile fueling, truck stop, card lock fueling and frank conversation with their current fleet companies, fleet fueling, fleet card provider in efforts to reduce increasing fueling cost.

Until next time, think about your fuel management knowledge and ask yourself do you and your company has the right tools to be able to handle possible $4.00 diesel prices? Listen if you don’t it’s OK. If you’re a fleet manager you don’t have the time or fuel management system tools. If you’re a Vice President or Director you need to step in now before your fueling budget is lost for the year and it’s only January.…

If You Need A Steel Sheet, Which One Is The Best?

The sheets are elements that are mainly used for the construction industry; they are characterized for being metallic sheets that have come to be known as plates or sheets; Dallas metal fabricators make these with different thicknesses and sizes (gauges and lengths), they are also used for the manufacture of profiles.

Knowing the manufacturing process of the profiles in sheets and Dallas metal fabricators who can manufacture it of excellent quality is essential to consider the pickling process, mill, cold rolling, galvanizing lines, and the painting process to achieve the best possible results for a product of excellent quality.

Manufacturing these profiles in sheets should take four processes which are:

  1. Pickling process
  2. Cold rolling mill
  3. Galvanizing line
  4. Painting process

The importance of knowing the process lies in distinguishing the range of sheets on the market today, as there are currently several manufacturers and many more Dallas metal fabricators, which do not always meet the standards, thus producing sheets of lower grade. When you know the production processes, you can better understand what material you can use correctly in different types of projects and know firsthand the quality of the manufacturers and their prices.

As already mentioned, the steel sheet is one of the most used products in metal-mechanical works; know the different types that you can find and their application techniques so that your industrial results are recognized and valued by customers.

Cold Rolled Sheets

Also called CR steel sheets or cold-rolled, this product is obtained by cold rolling of hot coils or strips, using mechanical reduction, perfect for getting a bending indicated using the sheet bending machine.

The second name given to Cold Rolled is because the steel is not put at high temperatures in the rolling process. In turn, cold forming reduces its thickness while changing its properties.

Hot Rolled Sheets

On the other hand, there are also HR sheets called: Hot Roller, widely used in the industry, allowing to replace body sheets if necessary.

Their versatility and durability lie in the heat from which they originate, which is why they are perfect for manufacturing food tanks and machinery that do not require high resistance.

Perforated Sheets

It is incredible how a sheet can be formed into different structures that complement the uses in the industrial bender, creating almost any shape you want to give it.

Perforated sheets are another product widely used in ornamentation, grain separation, windows, or facades. Its ability to adapt quickly to the cuts of the sheet metal cutter makes it perfect for occupying places in real estate spaces, such as baskets, chairs, and other uses.

Alfajor sheet

We are sure that this is one of the sheets you must have seen most often; its design in which diagonal cut lines stand out is ideal for industrial use as it represents a durable and genuinely non-slip option. It is also an excellent solution for platforms, machinery bases, vehicles, and marine equipment.

Galvanized Sheets

Finally, galvanized sheets have been subjected to a hot-dip process that …

More Coal and More Greenhouse Gas Emissions

More Coal and More Greenhouse Gas Emissions

We’re apparently not close to moving away from fossil fuels if the current dirty coal plant building boom is any indication. A recent Associated Press assessment of U.S. Department of Energy records and information provided by utilities and trade groups revealed that at least 30 traditional style coal plants have either been completed or have broken ground since 2008.

The construction boom in traditional coal burning plants appears to provide confirmation of three industry beliefs:

* The first being that power generation from “clean coal” is still years off. Put forward with great promise as a domestic source of clean power generation, clean coal has not gotten any traction in terms of replacing standard coal burning methodologies.

* The second is that renewable energy sources aren’t advanced enough to meet energy demands efficiently.

* Lastly, that carbon emission regulation will not be enacted in the near term, if at all. The last carbon emission bill make it to the Senate was rejected on both sides of the aisle as Democrats from coal mining states sided with Republicans to defeat the bill.

Hoping for the development of equipment that could capture greenhouse gasses emitted from the burning of coal, the Obama administration allocated $3.4 billion in stimulus spending to build the foundation for the construction of “clean-coal” plants. The tacit rejection of the program has now become pretty clear considering that the money spent on traditional coal plants totals more than 10 times that amount at $35 billion.

Utilities are justifying these expenditures on burning dirty coal by pointing to the abundance, domestic availability, and lower cost of coal versus natural gas and nuclear energy. Utilities are also standing by coal as a more reliable and cost effective energy source than intermittent or inconsistent power sources like as wind and solar. These characteristics are the primary reasons for coal being responsible for providing about half of the nation’s power.

Despite its abundance, these coal powered plants could cost consumers up to 30% more due to the costs of building the new plants. Representatives from the utilities building the plants say those increases would be even steeper if they were forced to utilize more expensive fuels or if carbon emissions were regulated.

While supporters for clean sources of energy may be frustrated by the ongoing coal plant construction, they can at least take heart in the fact that campaigns to limit the coal rush have had their share of success. The 32 plants either finished or started over the last two years pale in comparison to the 150 coal burning plants which were projected, with many being turned back through lawsuits and other legal challenges.

The bad news is that the plants which have either gone online or are about to will produce about 125 million tons of greenhouse gases per year, according to emissions figures from the sponsoring utilities and the Center for Global Development. That’s the equivalent of putting over 20 million additional …

Acupressure can induce labor but not only that, it is also a very effective pain relief method during labor that works without slowing down labor.

The theory behind acupressure is similar to that of acupuncture but without the needles. Acupressure stimulates specific points in the body which in turn stimulates the nervous system to release hormones that start contractions and induce babies head is encouraged to descend and engage earlier.

Is there any evidence that it works? The Complementary Therapy and Medicine Journal published a study in 2005. Women using acupressure went into labor more often and for a shorter time than the women were not using any acupressure techniques.

With respect to pain relief, acupressure not only relieves the pain but also does not slow down labor. This is one of the concerns with using medical pain relief such as epidurals. The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine published a study in 2004. This study showed that by stimulating one single pressure point, labor pain was significantly reduced.

Maternity acupressure is an extremely simple hands-on involves the use fingers and thumbs to apply pressure onto specific, sensitive pressure points on the body called acupressure points. During labor, acupressure can be used to strengthen contractions and help the cervix to dilate. These shortens the labor process.

With simple basic instructions on where the pressure points are and how to apply pressure to them, you can safely use maternity acupressure at home to naturally induce your labor.Acupressure can induce labor and is now a recommended method of self inducing by midwives and health professionals.…

Speed Boat Fuel Saving Hints

Speed Boat Fuel Saving Hints

A day’s fun with friends or family should always have to be costly. Most argue that since you can afford to purchase a craft, you care less for fuel cost. As an owner, this is not always the case. Here’s how you can save on fuel with your boat:

Fuel saving begins in choosing the correct boat. Forgive me if this sounds like a remedial but this is significant and if you can bear with me here, you’ll see my point. When obtaining a vessel, you must consider the length of the boat and the type of engine it uses. Obviously, length means higher fuel consumption as it is heavier and creates more air and water drag depending on the brand and the purpose. It is important, as a consequence, that you do your investigation on different types of craft. There are not much of them in the marketplace; this ought not to be so hard.

Common conception is, larger engine equals higher fuel intake. Although there is some true to it, what really decides the amount of fuel it consumes is the weight of the load. The guideline is, size your boat the right way founded on the volume of load and the variety of activity that you plan do 75% of the time. Never buy a small one if you are going to panel 10 people on it. A smaller boat with smaller engine is created for a particular number of individuals. Overloading the boat forces the engine to work harder and thus, consuming more fuel. Also, assess if you want a gasoline or diesel engine boats.

Doing the required maintenance not just prolongs the life of your boat, it also keeps the fuel intake at the proper level. Skipping maintenance cycle also cuts down on resale value of your boat and may give you studying the water from the bay instead of on the water enjoying a good summer day.

Don’t bring unnecessary things. These total to the weight and increase fuel consumption. Just bring what you need and remove all those things that you have not moved for years.

Remove things that can lead to air drag and increase water resistance. Convertible tops with sides on as well as hard water deposits and algae decrease fuel economy. Buy as little canvas as possible (without compromising comfort) and remove objects from the hull C objects that shouldn’t be there.

Most producers put standard propellers that are suited for normal operating conditions. Upgrading your propeller to high functioning one made from aluminum or stainless steel can improve the operation of your boat and save considerable fuel. When changing propeller though, invite professional advice on what’s right for your boat.

Saving money on boat is barely half the fight. The other half or the first half begins at the garage. Before leaving, make certain that your trailer is correctly inflated. Under-inflated trailer tires in addition to tires of your vehicle can increase fuel uptake …

Hydrogen Powered Cars – The Fuel-Efficient Cars

Hydrogen Powered Cars – The Fuel-Efficient Cars

Standing on the phase where the fuel depletion is the major problem of all country, Hydrogen Powered cars had come as blessing. Hydrogen Powered Cars are now denoted as cars of the future though it’s invention can be traced back in past. In 1807 Francois Isaac de Rivaz designed the first Hydrogen car but it had some problem and not even patented. Many experiments were taken in this field from then on and finally in 1970 Paul Dieges patented the invention.

Some of the Hydrogen Powered Cars use hydrogen fuel cell while some have converted gasoline powered combustion engine. Fiberforge manufactured the earliest Hydrogen Powered Car; they called it as “Revolution”. Experiment came out as a method of producing ultra-lightweight automobiles using carbon composites. But it too faced many problems. They realized that they have to reduce the weight of the car for better fuel mileage.

There are many big companies in market who want to take advantage of this fuel crisis. Audi, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Volkswagen, BMW are just few companies who are planning to launch Hydrogen Powered Cars. BMW HR2 claims to be “world’s fastest hydrogen car” exceeding 185mph. It does not operate on fuel cell. It uses modified 6-litre, 12 cylinder combustion engine for its propulsion. While Honda claims to make more efficient fuel cell car that can go 220 miles before it need next refueling as compared to 90 miles per tank limit for the Mercedes. Mercedes F600 Hygenius Concept Car is powered by hydrogen fuel cell and uses regenerative braking to recapture energy and recharge batteries.

In 2005 Honda gave first glimpse of Hydrogen Powered car, FCX, which was not more than a prototype. The car was never placed in the market. Honda is now coming with its new FCX Clarity, which runs on hydrogen and electricity, with light body weight and more interior room. They are planning to place more than 200 cars on road in coming three years. John Mendel, executive vice president at America Honda Motor Company, called on this occasion “an especially significant day for American Honda as we plant firm footsteps towards the main streaming of fuel cell cars.”

Pros and cons: –

Hydrogen Powered Cars are fuel-efficient cars. Chemical energy of hydrogen converted in fuel power in internal engine as it reacts in fuel cell with oxygen. Hydrogen fuel is energy carrier and not the source. Electrolysis of water is being used to produce fuel. The only by product it give is water. Thus it is eco-friendly with zero emission. It will save money on fuel and also lessen our dependence on OPEC. It will increase car performance as well as gas mileage. And to promote these cars, buyers will receive nice tax break.

The Hydrogen Powered Cars face some challenges too. The consumers have to pay huge amount to posses one of these cars. Therefore manufacturers have to use less expensive technology without ignoring the safety measures. There have to …

Getting to Grips With a Warehouse Management System

Getting to Grips With a Warehouse Management System

A warehouse management system, also known as a WMS, facilitates and controls the movement and storage of materials housed within a warehouse. These systems automate transactions and allow stock to be located, quantities of stock to be assessed, and warehouse tasks to be directed.

As a matter of fact, due to the advanced technology of warehouse management systems, all warehousing functions can be optimized. This optimization can include all inventory movements, as well as the provision of all information flowing in between the movement of inventory.

Warehouse management systems are being used by, and are of great use to all types of businesses. While businesses of all sizes use them, small to mid-sized business have been showing a growing interest in these systems. Even though smaller to mid-sized businesses may have less inventory to keep track of than larger businesses may, the streamlining facilitated by a warehouse management system is still of great usefulness to them. These systems allow for the faster movement of product, which in turn improves the bottom line of any business.

The integration of a WMS within an organization results in improved operating practice overall. It allows space within a warehouse to be maximized, and allows for the more effective use of labour, equipment and inventory. Once a warehouse management system is implemented, an improvement in the accuracy of inventory, as well as an improvement in flexibility results. Of course labor costs are reduced, and customer service in enhanced.

The process by which information can be updated in electronic inventory, due to the integration of a WMS results in higher levels of accurate results. The accuracy of WMS results allows for a reduction in the amount of red tape within a business, as well as the altering of inventory information in a streamlined, simple manner.

Captured electronic data can be used for the purpose of monitoring the working practices within a business. This in turn ensures that the merchandise is always replenished when necessary, making the taking of physical inventories unnecessary. Manual data entry can result in errors. However, electronic operations involving warehouse stock through warehouse management systems, results in a greatly reduced rate of error, or even no rate of error at all.

The benefits resulting from the use of such a system can help in allowing a business to become an authority within an industry. Use of a WMS results in the ability for a business to better serve a market, while optimized warehouse management results in an improvement of all facets of an operation.…

HHO Cell Cars – Imagine Feeling Calm When Everyone Else’s Panics When the Gas Prices Rise!

The world has been hearing about the HHO cell car for quite some time now and everyone wants to see it on the roads soon. But the fact is that these cars are already on the streets in many countries in the world like USA. Hydrogen cars have recently been launched by the leading car manufacturers BMW and General Motors. In fact thirteen such cars by General Motors can be spotted in Washington, which also includes six minivans.

Few car manufacturers like Toyota, Nissan, Daimler Chrysler and Honda have designed special hydrogen powered vehicles to be used in the Army. BMW has come up with its own series whereas Ford’s HHO car, “Focus” is still in the manufacturing stage.

You don’t need to worry about gas mileage once you own one of these cars. They help in cutting down on the fuel cost as hydrogen is cheap and affordable. However there is no need to panic if you can’t afford these cars, you can still get your car converted with the help of hydrogen fuel kits. The kit is reasonably priced and it is definitely a good investment considering its long term advantages.

General Motors is planning to launch few alternative hydrogen cars by 2010. These alternative cars are priced like other internal combustion cars but use hydrogen as fuel. There is severe shortage of hydrogen stations all over the world and for this Shell and General Motors have joined hands. Shell has been actively involved in setting up hydrogen fuel stations to meet the demand. The projection is that for every 200,000 cars, the world will need approximately 300 hydrogen stations.

You can notice a few hydrogen buses running in European cities like Amsterdam, Porto, Madrid, Stockholm, Stuttgart and London. They were launched in 2004 by Daimler Chrysler. Such hho cell-powered vehicles are expected to take over the automobile industry in the coming years!…

Productivity Benchmarking – A Powerful Tool for Management Teams

Productivity Benchmarking – A Powerful Tool for Management Teams

Department productivity benchmarking is one of the most powerful and versatile tools available to progressive hospital management teams. Here are just a few of its uses.

As a Cost Management Tool: Labor costs remain the largest single component of any hospital’s expense budget. Managing labor costs is important for both financial and moral stewardship reasons. Department productivity benchmarking is an important first step in identifying and resolving excessive labor costs.

As an Overall Performance Screening Tool: Staffing variances are a marker for potential performance issues that go far beyond excessive labor costs. Departments frequently “staff up” to overcome operating problems caused by everything from organizational cultural issues and resource inadequacies to work process factors. Departments that consume an abnormal amount of labor resources because of these factors are more often than not also struggling with quality, physician and patient satisfaction, employee relations and community image issues. Done correctly, department productivity benchmarking will help identify those departments in the most need of management action.

As a Management Data Set Validation Method: More than sixty percent of U.S. hospitals are managing with inadequate or inaccurate management information. A systematic review of data, performed during the course of the benchmarking process, will identify errors in the management data set leading to better decisions.

As a Change Management Resource: Is your team in the process of building a new organizational culture to meet today’s challenges? Productivity benchmarking serves as an essential component of any serious management initiative to transform the classic hospital culture. Hospitals that routinely and systematically benchmark department productivity are communicating powerful performance expectations with action as well as words.

Modern technology has placed annual department productivity benchmarking within the easy reach of every hospital management team. Major changes take place in the hospital almost every day. How current are your department productivity benchmarks?…

Warehouse Management System – RFID Gains Significance

Warehouse Management System – RFID Gains Significance

Warehouse management is an integral component of supply chain and has assumed significant importance in today’s era. It covers host number of activities under its realm like moving of goods and materials, tracking, picking and packing, maintaining the inventory level etc. The process also involves checking for huge number of boxes along with their product code, packaging no and entering them which being performed manually consumes a lot of time and leads to paperwork.

In a bid remain competitive and harness growth in today’s global environment; companies have started implementing RFID systems in their warehouses. RFID which stands for Radio frequency identification uses radio waves to exchange data between a reader and an electronic tag attached to an object, for the purpose of tracking and identification. It consists of three basic components, viz. RFID tag, RFID reader and the necessary software and hardware for communication. The tag consists of a microchip which is attached to a radio antenna and is placed on the object to be identified. To retrieve the data stored on the tag, An Rfid reader is used which passes information to a computer system put in place for data collection with the help of antennas emitting radio waves. The data transmitted by the tag may provide identification or location information, or specifics about the product tagged, such as price, color, date of purchase, etc

RFID tagging is used in supply chain management as an alternative to bar code technology. Although more expensive to use than the bar code stickers RFID tags don’t get dirty or fall off or require an unobstructed line-of-sight between the tag and the reader. As compared to a barcode reader which demands for clean, clear optics and abrasion free label to be seen by lasers, RFID enables tag reading from a greater distance, even in the harsh of environments. With the help of RFID manufacturers, distributors, and retailers can maintain extremely low levels of inventory and keep a proper track record as to what has been sold in the last business day. Furthermore the system also facilitates automatic data entry rather than manually making entries of the stock on paper first and then into the computer which saves a lot of time and human efforts. The technology possesses the capability of detecting missing shipments and alert the management which leads to a better control over the movement and storage of materials within the warehouse. This also helps in maximizing the efficiency of the receipt and shipment of goods, allowing employees to improve and maintain high customer service levels.

The global world is seeing a constant change and new challenges are emerging within the logistics sector. In a bid remain competitive and tap the growing opportunities. Companies need to bring a change in the traditional style of functioning and implement modern systems and technologies.…

Losing Weight By Eating Right

Losing Weight By Eating Right

Eating several small meals a day is better than eating 1 – 3 large meals. Our actual stomachs are very small and can only hold a small amount of food at a time. Generally, this is just enough food to give us the nutrients we need to live (if fed properly). Unless we constantly eat way too much and acclimate our stomach to a larger amount of food, that is. The quickest way to shrink your stomach to the proper size and to only accept smaller amounts of food to get you on the right track is through a cleanse. Eating several small meals throughout the day (5 – 6) will help your metabolism and blood sugar remain in balance to help your body burn fat continuously throughout the day. When you consume 1 – 3 large meals your body uses what it needs and stores the rest as fat to be burned some other time. But, it’s really difficult to burn that stored fat. Hence, why it is so difficult to lose weight.

Starving yourself has adverse reactions on your body as well. Yes, your body will begin to burn that stored fat, but when you do eat, your body will use the least amount of that food for fuel as it can and store the rest as fat in preparation for ‘starvation mode’.

I like to use the car analogy for this. Would you run your car on empty? It would stop running, right? Just like a car, our bodies need fuel – the right fuel. The more often we give our bodies the right fuel the better it will run, the healthier it will be, and the longer we will live. Our bodies are quite smart… we need to work with it, not against it.

I know what you’re thinking; I don’t have the time to eat several small meals a day. My response is this: just try it. Prepare several small snacks for yourself the night before – carrots, apples, oranges, nuts (nuts are very good for you!!), etc. Have them peeled, cut, etc. and in individual containers / bags. If they’re ready to go when you are in the morning, then you’re more likely to grab them when you leave. I also recommend, at least for the first couple weeks, to leave your debit / credit cards / cash at home (with the exception of gas money that you need) so that you aren’t tempted to just go ‘grab something’ from the fast food joint down the street from your office.

Once your eating better you’ll notice a difference in how you feel. You’ll be more awake, aware of your surroundings, in a better mood (without even trying!), and you won’t feel so sluggish. Not to mention that since you’re not eating out as much, not eating the crap, you’ll lose weight!!…

Warehouse Management Systems

Warehouse Management Systems

Warehouse Management Systems or WMS are put in place to help control the storage and movement of the materials within the warehouse. They are a vital part of the supply chain and control processes within the warehouse such as shipping and picking & packing. Also based on real time the systems help to direct and optimize stock.

The main purpose of a warehouse management system is primarily to control movement and storage of materials in a warehouse.

WMS provides computerized procedures which deal with the receipt of stock & returns into the warehouse facility. It also enables a link to the ordering processes and logistics enabling ordering, picking, packing and shipping the product out of the warehouse.

Some WMS are stand-alone systems, whilst others are modules of an ERP (Enterprising Resource Planning) system or supply chain execution suite.

Many systems will often use data capture technology such as ;

o Mobile scanners

o Radio frequency identification ( RFID )

o Wireless LANS

o Barcode scanners

The use of this technology helps to efficiently monitor the flow of products.

When the data has been collected it is transmitted to a central database, and this database will then provide important and useful reports on the status of the goods within the warehouse.

It deals with the movement, storage, and receipt of warehouse goods to temporary or intermediate storage locations or to the final customer.

Good efficient warehouse management can make a lot of difference to a retail chain distribution company. It should start with initial planning of container design for a specific product. Both warehouse and process design within the warehouse is also an important part of good warehouse management.

The primary objective of warehouse management is to optimize order fulfilment and cost of time by managing the available resources economically. visit https://sanka7a.com/.…

Anyone Can Build Homemade Solar Panels

Anyone Can Build Homemade Solar Panels

Did you know that it’s now possible for anyone to build homemade solar panels? Did you know that this incredible form of free electricity is making its way into more and more homes around the globe every day? Did you know it can often be done for under $200?

Personally I think the best thing about this is that you do not need to be some kind of scientist nor do you need to be some kind of DIY expert. I can only just about put the shelf up in my house and yet I can manage to do this! Many good solar panel kits are very simple to follow, construct and complete. The most scientific parts are the photovoltaic cells and of course when you purchase these male already constructed.

A simple search on Google will find you loads of different kits for constructing your solar cells. There are many different sizes in many different price ranges that generate different amounts of wattage. But whichever one you choose within a few days you can have a solar panel on the roof of your house generating power for you every time the sun shines.

Even on cloudy days the suns UV rays can be converted into electricity for lighting your home, heating your water, charging your cell phone or just about anything you want. But some of the home build kits are not always the best so it is advisable to choose wisely.

Just like flat pack furniture it is all too common to find that a vital part missing from your pack and it is all too common to get a set of instructions that don’t make any sense. If you are thinking of purchasing a ‘ready-to-assemble’ kit then it may be a good idea to head to a hardware store where you can check everything over before you buy it.

There are some great options in most hardware stores, however you will be paying top dollar for these kits. If you find the right instructions online you will be able to purchase all of the parts separately for a fraction of the normal cost.

People that do this can often get all the parts they need, ready to generate free electricity for sometimes under $200. If cutting down on your fuel bills is something that sounds interesting and perhaps you should look into how you can build homemade solar panels too.…

Failure or Success – Let Your Mind Decide With the Help of Positive Affirmations!

Failure or Success – Let Your Mind Decide With the Help of Positive Affirmations!

The choice between failure or success lies in you. Or rather, in your mind. Most people think that they are simply slaves to the fates of this world, that they do not have a say in what they ultimately turn out as. Do they become successful or do they fail?

1. Recognize the problem in the old way of thinking. There is a common belief that we already have our destinies planned out for us, and there’s little much we can do about it. If you think that way, then the tendency is for the mind to lose hope and lose the motivation to strive hard. After all, why would you bother to work hard if fate has already decided your future for you anyway?

2. Revamp your state of here’s a welcome new concept: your mind has the power to decide whether you fail or succeed. And since you can have control over your mind, this means you can choose an outcome for your life. It’s all a matter of belief.

In a nutshell, failure and success are simply products of your mind. Your mind has the power to propel you to success if only it finds enough fuel to keep you going. And it also has the tendency to slack off and lead the way towards failure if it gets the wrong directions.

And this fuel, the directions – they all come from you. So the question is, what kind of fuel are you feeding your mind with? Is it positive fuel or negative fuel? If you’re running on negative fuel, no matter how hard you work, you are on your way towards failure. And the more you fail, the more the brain will expect to fail. And the more failure to expect, the more failure will certainly come.

But what if you are running on positive fuel? It will give you everything you need to reach success. This includes motivation, encouragement, willpower, and so on. And this positive fuel that you need is just the right state of mind, the right mental programming.

3. Fill up with positive fuel. So how can you fill your tank with positive fuel and go down the straight road towards success? Positive affirmations, positive thoughts and statements that you fill up your mind with, are exactly the type of fuel you need. These positive statements, once embedded into the mind, turn into actual belief systems. And when your mind starts believing in positive things, it already does what it can to generate these beliefs into reality.

The equation is simple: positive statements bring positive results, while negative statements bring negative results. So the decision as to whether you fail or succeed lies in your mind, and with positive affirmations, you can control your mind. This means, you don’t have to live out a life that has already been predetermined for you. Failure or success – you are free …

Choosing A Warehouse Management Software And Warehouse Management System Reseller

Before choosing the right warehouse management software and warehouse management system (WMS) for your enterprise, it is vital to consider the various needs of your enterprise. One may want to automate their storehouse operations for the first time or even improve on existing systems. This calls for an informed choice to enable the owner to achieve the greatest benefits of this upgrade.

To get the right reseller to help in this project, verify their knowledge about storehouse operations like how it is managed, how to manage customer relationship, accounting and integration of these functions with wireless data collection systems. They therefore need to be experienced in software implementation suitable for the specific business.

Look for those ready to give a complete service package. This includes technical support, training and maintenance of the new installation. This is important since the product is to stay in use for long-term and hence their services will be required for the same period. Their ability to listen to the business needs of their client is also paramount. This will affect efficacy of the solution they offer to those needs.

Let the reseller tell the features of the product they are selling and its benefits to your organization. Otherwise, there are many systems in the market today and one may not exactly what to choose. Of importance is to look for that will increase efficiency of employees whilst bringing improved inventory control.

A good vendor of WMS is expected to save time of a company when carrying out installation and training on the product. They also should be able to help select the right software since they have interacted with different types. It is their duty to make sure the agreed deadline of their work is met.

In order for the staff to reap full benefits of the new WMS, it is important to get that which is user-friendly. Key areas to look are its use of navigational models of a standard browser to allow one to view critical data with least number of clicks as possible. The software should allow users to sort and show information that employees will know what they need to work on without a lot of struggle.

To sum up, warehouse management software and warehouse management system should integrate with the enterprise accounting data such that relevant departments and staff keep track of inventory and order conformity. A good WMS will provide real-time solution to transcription errors, need for higher number of data entry staff while providing improved access to information in within departments. For better results, have the WMS work as a module of Enterprise Resource Planning systems.…

How to Maintain Your Hybrid

How to Maintain Your Hybrid

It always helps to get the basic understanding of hybrids before deciding to own one. Most people know they are fuel-efficient and of course, that is true.

However, since they are not exactly the same as the mainstream vehicles we’re used to, there may be questions about whether it costs more to maintain a hybrid vehicle. Though the difference is not huge, there may be question s about what it costs to maintain the battery or how much it would cost to replace it if necessary. We cover these questions in other articles so feel free to look through the site and put your mind at ease.

The gulf between conventional vehicles and hybrid vehicles is not so huge. In fact, when it comes to their routine maintenance, the difference is minimal. The difference only really applies to the electric drive motor and the systems that control the storage batteries. In this article, we will cover the basics.

One of the fundamental differences when comparing full hybrid vehicles to conventional vehicles are their ability to shut off the internal combustion engines and operate solely on the electric motor. Because of the option, the hybrid’s engine doesn’t work as hard. This results in reduced wear and the engine lasts longer. Many hybrids employ regenerative braking systems that charge the batteries and reduce wear on brake components.

Where Exactly Do Hybrids Differ?

Hybrids differ in their drive train. The different parts of the drive train are designed to work together. If there is a malfunction in one component then all the components are affected. The internal combustion engine, electric drive motor and transmission are designed to work as one entity If one of these malfunction the function of the others could be affected. This is not a do it yourself job unless you happen to be a professional yourself. If your have any serious problems with any of the parts in the drive train, make sure you take it to a repair center certified to handle hybrid engines and their related systems.

Quick Tip:

Aside from serious drive train repairs, you can perform the other parts of your car maintenance such as checking your hybrid’s transmission fluid, changing out spark plugs and filters. To go any deeper than this is not recommended unless you are a professional with a thorough knowledge of hybrids.

The Electronics Under The Hood

There are generally separate cooling systems for the electronic modules that control the drive motor for propulsion and regenerative braking. These compartments generate great deals of heat. Having separate cooling systems help to keeps its complex heating systems from overheating.

Quick Tip:

It’s important to check the individual hoses, pipes and clamps when you do regular maintenance on the engine cooling system. You also want to check any additional filters used on the motor and battery cooling or heating system.

Be Safe – Beware The Orange

Most hybrids have dual voltage systems. Though the greater part of the electrical …

Does Cloud Reign?

Does Cloud Reign?

Does choosing a cloud based WMS limit your opportunities to grow?

Many suppliers have recently been promoting the advantages of cloud based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), but is this a case of jumping on the bandwagon without considering all the implications?

For a smaller business with a manual warehouse operation, cloud technology initially appears to makes sense in many respects, particularly when combined with a software as a service (SaaS) payment option. Cloud systems benefit from a large scale IT infrastructure with applications running on virtual servers hosted remotely from the warehouse site. The disaster recovery plan is already in place and the customer does not need to worry about maintaining servers on site.

To get the real benefit of a WMS you need real time responses to the warehouse transactions, usually this involves RF terminals to promote accuracy in receipt, storage, picking and despatch operations. RF terminals require an RF infrastructure, the maintenance of which needs to be someone’s responsibility. It’s possible to outsource this support to your WMS provider or third party, but how long can you afford for the operation, or at least part of it, to be out of service while they respond with a site visit? A cloud based WMS also needs a reliable internet connection and an internal IT infrastructure to connect local PCs and peripheral equipment. So in reality someone on site needs to be responsible for internal IT support regardless.

These are not uncommon arguments against use of a cloud WMS. However one key argument always seems to be overlooked. Most businesses have aspirations to grow, and growth generally requires increased throughput and improved efficiency. So what happens when you realise that to get these improvements you need to move to some level of automation, no matter how simple?

The general opinion is that you need to have an on-site Warehouse Control System (WCS) to integrate and control the materials handling equipment (MHE). So now you have a WMS hosted remotely and a WCS hosted locally, communicating over the internet, which can mean you’re paying for two systems, often from two suppliers.

Many WMS vendors specifically avoid any responsibility for WCS functionality, focusing only on non-automated operations. However this can preclude their customers from receiving the benefits that come with efficient use of MHE.

The question that needs to be asked when considering a cloud based WMS should really be “Do I want my business to grow and will this system limit that?”

This is not to say that cloud computing will not have a huge impact on how we share and manage data. Hybrid cloud computing in which enterprises extend their resources to public clouds may well be the trend of the future. In addition to providing reliability and scalability of public clouds, hybrid cloud computing has the appeal of providing the most suitable environment for some applications, such as databases, that run better on a dedicated server than on a shared server. What is important as with …

So, the wholesalers and distributors must use it. What a wholesale supplier or distributors needs to do is to store as many products in the warehouse as possible and utilizing the warehouse space properly allows them to do so.

Managing the inventory properly

Properly managing the inventory allows the wholesalers to optimally utilize the warehouse. If the wholesalers are able to sell their inventory quickly they can bring in the new supplies timely and can sell the newer products to the customers and make the best use of their warehouse. Other than that using first in first out method, also called FIFO, is really beneficial for managing the inventory and making the best use of the warehouse space.

Utilizing warehouse out of season

Some wholesale suppliers or distributors deal in seasonal wholesale products. During the off season period usually their warehouse remains empty. What they can do to maximize the benefit of their warehouse is to rent out their warehouse to other wholesale distributors and suppliers. This allows them to generate some income from their warehouse during the off season period as well.

Fleet Cars – Should Companies Pick Or Let Employees Pick?

Fleet Cars – Should Companies Pick Or Let Employees Pick?

Choosing cars for your fleet is often a complicated decision. There are so many different elements to consider and so many different types of cars available. The main problem that people usually face is whether they should be purchasing their own fleet cars or if they should be letting the employees pick the cars that they want. This isn’t a fashion contest, though, and companies can often get better deals when they buy certain cars in large quantities. Therefore, it might be simpler and cheaper to pick the cars for yourself.

If you let employees pick their cars, you will have dozens of different people who want dozens of different cars. You might not be able to get as good of a discount when you do this, and you will have to keep track of all of the different makes and models that are available. Giving people the freedom to choose can make a significant difference, because it makes them feel like they are more a part of the decision. One way to meet in the middle with this issue is to choose two models of fleet cars and then let employees pick which they prefer.

For example, if you own a retail corporation, letting district managers choose between a minivan or a station wagon (because each has room for transporting products, displays, shelving, etc.) will give them the personalization that they deserve without completely compromising your purchase discounts. You can get two or three models that a fleet car dealer will give you a good rate on and then let people pick which model they prefer. Of course, this requires you to take the time to fill everyone in on the options and wait for them to decide, but it is a way to include employees in the selection.

Choosing your own fleet cars is going to be much easier and involve less hassle. You can stick with one model or a couple of models and then issue them to whomever you like as you see fit. While your employees might not appreciate this method, they will be thankful that they at least have a company car to drive. Make sure that you check out things like fuel economy, maintenance and productivity, and other elements to choose the best cars available so that you can buy the best cars on the market. Letting employees pick is a nice idea, but won’t always produce the best results for your business.…

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Generator – How Fuel Cell Energy Works

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Generator – How Fuel Cell Energy Works

It didn’t take long for the hydrogen fuel cell generator to become popular. Yet there is still very little known about how these devices actually work. Through out this post we are going to go over a few of the key points about hydrogen fuel generators and how they work. We are also going to be going over how hydrogen and fuel cells just might change your life for the better.

How Hydrogen Fuel Cell Generators Work

Hydrogen generators are relatively simple devices which allow you to separate water from its two main elements (hydrogen and Oxygen). This is done through an electrolysis process creating what we now call hho gas or hydroxy gas. This gas can then be feed through various types of vehicles to help increase its fuel efficiency. There are a number a different fuel cell energy devices. One main type is the dry cell hydrogen generator. The dry cell hydrogen generator is the more efficient of the two types of generators. The other is the wet cell generator.

Dry Cell Hydrogen Generator

A dry cell generator is typically conducted using steel plates. The number of plates can very between its builder. On most cells there is six steel plates one positive, one negative and 4 natural plates. Now depending upon the type of vehicle the dry cell will be going on the plates may need to be increased. Since larger motors would need a larger source of hho in order to get the maximum amount of efficiency.

HHO Dry Cell Parts

* Steel Plates

* Water Reservoir

* Bubbler

* Mounting Brackets

* Tubing and Wiring

These are just the main parts needed to construct your device. However there are actually several other parts we have left out like the spacers, bolts, plexiglass and many others. Instead of boring you with the full schematics of everything that is needed. It is best to give you a basic break down of what is needed to build a hydrogen fuel cell generator.

The Benefits of Hydrogen Fuel Cells

These devices come with a wide range of benefits one of which is a nice tax incentive. The tax incentive can be implemented this coming tax season just as soon as you have installed the device. The amount one could receive varies but users of these devices have gotten upwards of two thousand dollars off their income taxes just for installing the device on one of their vehicles. Another advantage of using fuel cell energy is that its ten times safer for the environment. This is because hydrogen burns hotter then regular gas/diesel. Not to mention the only emissions emitted from these devices is water its self.

This is not saying that you can completely run your current vehicle off of nothing but the fuel cell. Instead you will be creating a hybrid car out of your current vehicle. So instead of going out and buying a brand new vehicle …
